Tomestones sit at the center of gearing in FFXIV. Every duty you run pays out a small amount, and the vendors turn that currency into equipment. Poetics handle everything from old expansions up to level 90 and remain the quickest way to dress an undergeared job. At level 100 the split begins: Mathematics buy the ilvl 750 Historia set, while Mnemonics buy ilvl 780+ Bygone Brass pieces, the best tomestone gear in the current patch.

Earning them is slow by design. Roulettes reset daily, hunt trains depend on other players' schedules, and the top currency is capped each week. A full set built this way takes real calendar time. There are a few rules that apply specifically to Allagan Tomestones of Mnemonics.

First, your character can hold up to 2,000 of them at any time – that is the hard inventory cap, so you will need to spend them before you can collect more.

Second, these tomestones have a weekly earning limit, which is not the case for Poetics or Mathematics. This means you can only obtain a fixed amount of Mnemonics per week across all sources, and the cap resets every Tuesday.

The weekly cap for Allagan Tomestones of Mnemonics is 450 tomestones.

You can start earning them only after you have reached level 100 with at least one combat job. The exact number of tomestones you receive from a duty depends on the level of the activity you complete: higher-level dungeons, trials and roulettes give more, while lower-level content rewards fewer or none at all.
